XRP Surges on Trump's Acceptance of Ethics Restrictions for Crypto Bill
A late-session surge pushed XRP to $1.42 on Tuesday after Donald Trump accepted roughly 80% of the ethics restrictions Senate Democrats had demanded for the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.
The token climbed 5.8% on the news, though it had spent the morning in negative territory.
A final draft introduced by leading Senate Republicans explicitly names XRP as an example of a 'digital commodity', a designation the market reads as a step toward clearer jurisdictional lines between the SEC and the CFTC.
Ripple's own stablecoin, RLUSD, has been quietly building scale. Its market capitalization recently passed $2.32 billion, and since the start of the year it has grown by roughly $1.07 billion, placing it third among 2026's fastest-expanding stablecoins, behind Tether's USDT and Anchorage's business-focused USDGO.
XRP is still up 42% over 30 days, but momentum has stalled due to profit-taking and the rate backdrop. After US producer prices rose 5.4% year-over-year, expectations for a tighter Federal Reserve gained traction.
