XRP Surges Past Bitcoin and Ethereum as Stablecoin Growth and Auto-Bridging Liquidity Kick In

XRP's recent surge has left many wondering what's behind its outperformance. In just 24 hours, XRP rose by 6.99%, beating both Bitcoin and Ethereum's gains of 4.81% and 5.16%, respectively.

A closer look at the data reveals that this wasn't a thin, low-liquidity spike. The token's trading volume jumped 70.18%, indicating real money was actively changing hands on the network.

XRP's decentralized exchange uses a feature called auto-bridging, which allows two unrelated tokens to route through the native asset for a better rate. This has been in place since 2012 and is central to why liquidity on the network behaves the way it does.

The growth of stablecoins issued on the XRP ledger also points to genuine on-chain activity rather than price speculation. With over $1.1 billion in dollar-pegged tokens, Ripple's own token accounts for the large majority of that figure.
