XRP Surges to New Highs as RLUSD Growth Continues
XRP's price surged to an intraday high of $1.6963 on Saturday before reversing sharply and currently trading at $1.4578.
The token remains 47% above its 2026 low of $0.9905, hit on August 11 after a bridge exploit briefly pushed the price below $1 for the first time since late 2024.
The recent surge was largely due to the broader crypto market rally, with Bitcoin approaching the crucial resistance level of $80,000 and Ethereum and other altcoins continuing their strong rallies.
One potential catalyst for XRP's price is the strong growth of Ripple USD ($RLUSD) this month, which has seen its market capitalization soar to over $2.07 billion for the first time since its launch in late 2024.
The stablecoin has become a highly popular choice, with 24-hour volume rising to over $753 million and $988 million of it now in the XRP Ledger.
While this growth will help boost XRPL's utility in the coming months, XRP faces some potential risks, including a dead-cat bounce or inflation remaining stubbornly high and pushing the Federal Reserve to hike interest rates.
