XRP vs. Bitcoin: Which Cryptocurrency Reigns Supreme?
Bitcoin (BTC) and XRP are two of the largest cryptocurrencies on the market. Bitcoin, launched in 2009, has a total market value of $1.55 trillion, while XRP, launched in 2012, has a market cap of $85.1 billion.
XRP had a wilder ride over the past three years, gaining roughly 170% compared to Bitcoin's triple. However, their paths diverged significantly during this time. Ripple, XRP's parent company, recently launched a stablecoin called RLUSD, which has seen increased trading volume in recent months.
RLUSD appears to be Ripple's preferred digital currency, with major banking partnerships opting for it over XRP. The largest deal of the year involved JPMorgan Chase and Mastercard using RLUSD for real-time cross-border tokenized Treasury settlements.
Bitcoin, on the other hand, has a fixed supply of 21 million coins, drawing in institutions as its price rises. Analysts are predicting a rise in Bitcoin's price, with targets ranging from $82,000 to $150,000 by the end of 2026.
