XRP Whales Go Quiet Amidst Market Uncertainty
The cryptocurrency market is experiencing a period of uncertainty due to two recent developments. Whale inflows to Binance for XRP have fallen to their lowest level since 2021, reaching approximately $61 million over the three-month average. This decline in whale deposits can be seen as both bearish and bullish, depending on interpretation.
On one hand, reduced whale activity may indicate that large investors are becoming less active in the market. On the other hand, it could also suggest that whales are waiting for clearer market conditions before making major moves.
In fact, some evidence points towards continued accumulation of XRP by large holders. Recent reports indicate that they accumulated over 72 million XRP in a single day.
Additionally, Grayscale has withdrawn exchange-traded fund registrations for Cardano, Polkadot and Hedera, which may reflect the difficult economics surrounding smaller altcoin ETFs. The decision does not necessarily represent a rejection of these cryptocurrencies but rather highlights the challenges issuers face in determining whether a product can achieve sustainable commercial scale.
The developments point towards a more selective crypto market where capital is no longer automatically flowing into every major altcoin due to regulatory progress alone. Investors are increasingly focused on liquidity, institutional demand and sustainable market structure.
