XRPL Batch V1.1 Upgrade Stalls on One Validator Vote
XRPL's Batch V1.1 upgrade is one validator vote away from starting its 14-day activation countdown, after securing backing from 27 of the network's 35 trusted validators (77%). The upgrade would allow users to bundle up to eight linked transactions into a single atomic transaction operation.
Currently, the amendment is in its majority period, where it needs to maintain support above 80% for the full two weeks. Validators can change their votes during this time, and if support drops below the threshold before the window closes, the countdown resets.
The Batch V1.1 proposal was rebuilt after an earlier version was withdrawn due to a security flaw that could have let attackers include other accounts' transactions without approval. The rebuild process involved four senior reviewers, audits from Halborn and Common Prefix, and a public Sherlock security contest.
