XRPL Processes Record 2M AI Agent Payments
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) continues to demonstrate its native bridging role as it automatically routes trades through XRP when the optimal path is available. This mechanism, which does not rely on extra smart contracts or third-party bridging services, has been observed in recent days, with approximately 0.16% of XRPL DEX trading volume completed through this automatic bridging process over the past 72 hours.
The data also highlights another notable trend: around 2 million payments have been settled between AI agents on XRPL within the last 72 hours. These microtransactions are ideal for machine-to-machine settlements, such as API calls, data purchases, computational power usage, and digital services payments.
XRP's low transaction fee of 0.00001 XRP per transaction makes it a cost-effective option for automated software that requires frequent micropayments. In contrast, the fees for 2 million transactions using traditional bank cards would total around $600,000, significantly higher than XRPL's network fee.
