XRPL Upgrade Bundles Five Amendments, Including Resubmitted Patched Code
The XRP Ledger is set to receive an upgrade in the form of xrpld 3.3.0, which bundles five amendments that aim to move XRPL closer to supporting tokenized assets at scale.
Two of these amendments, Batch and Permission Delegation, have already failed validator voting once due to critical bugs, but have been resubmitted in patched form with new amendment IDs: BatchV1_1 and PermissionDelegationV1_1.
Batch allows up to eight transactions from different accounts to execute atomically, while Permission Delegation enables an account to hand off narrowly scoped transaction permissions to another account without giving up full signing authority.
Confidential MPT combines zero-knowledge proofs with elliptic-curve encryption to keep Multi-Purpose Token balances and transfer amounts private on a public ledger, while Sponsored Fees and Reserves lets a bank or platform cover another account's XRP transaction fees and reserve requirement.
Dynamic MPT allows an issuer to specify which token properties can still be changed later, avoiding a full migration to a new token.
