XRP's $43 Billion Market Cap Surge on Modest Inflows Defies Conventional Wisdom
XRP's market capitalization surged by $43.74 billion over two days in late August, coinciding with net exchange inflows of just $44.3 million, according to an analysis by crypto commentator Zach Rector.
Rector reviewed four-hour exchange flow data from CoinGlass covering the period from August 19 to August 21 and calculated a market cap multiplier of 986x, illustrating how thin liquidity can produce outsized moves in digital asset valuations without requiring equivalent capital inflows.
The analysis shows that during this time, $105 million flowed into exchanges against $60 million in outflows, resulting in net inflows of approximately $44.3 million.
XRP's market capitalization increased from $62 billion to $106 billion over the same period.
