XRP's Eight-Year Performance Outpaced by Eggs
Crypto commentator Ash Crypto (@AshCrypto) sparked a discussion among investors and traders by comparing the performance of XRP to that of eggs over an eight-year period. According to his tweet, $10,000 invested in XRP eight years ago is now worth $3,000, whereas $10,000 invested in eggs one month ago is now worth $43,400.
The comparison was made by looking at the price of XRP, which traded at $3.40 eight years ago and currently sits at $1.05, a decline of roughly 69%. On the other hand, egg prices have surged sharply in recent weeks, with a one-month comparison from $0.26 to $1.13, a gain of roughly 335%.
Several crypto community members weighed in on Ash Crypto's post, with some taking the comparison lightly and suggesting people buy more eggs. Others raised questions about whether comparing a one-month timeframe to an eight-year one is a fair measurement. Some investors saw this as a humbling experience for the entire industry, while others pointed to external factors such as CME futures, ETFs, and other financial instruments that have suppressed Bitcoin's price ceiling.
