XRP's Overbought RSI Sparks Bearish Divergence Warning
XRP's Relative Strength Index (RSI) has reached an all-time high reading of 88, but its current price is significantly lower than when it reached its July 2025 peak. According to ChartNerd, this could indicate that XRP is losing momentum after a rejection at the 50-week exponential moving average (EMA). The analyst described the development as a 'bearish divergence,' suggesting early signs of weakness.
The comparison between the current RSI reading and the July 2025 high is notable because XRP's price has dropped from $3.65 to around $1.48. ChartNerd highlighted that traders had previously focused on XRP's oversold RSI, but now the indicator is overbought. The analyst warned that this could lead to a lack of attention to the bearish divergence.
The chart shared by ChartNerd shows XRP declining through much of 2026 after recording a series of lower highs. A red descending trendline connects several of those highs, while XRP's latest move has brought the price back toward that resistance area.
