XRP's Path to Recovery: Will It Ever Break Its All-Time High?
XRP's price has been on a downward trend since its peak in July 2025 when it reached $3.65, just 5% shy of its all-time high of $3.84 set in January 2018. The coin's market cap would need to nearly quadruple from $65 billion to $242 billion for XRP to break its ATH.
The circulating supply of XRP has already doubled since its peak, reaching 63 billion coins, while the protocol's lending capabilities have been hindered by a lack of validator support. Ripple's lending protocol aims to give holders a reason to lock their XRP away and earn from it, but it still needs validators to approve it.
Experts predict that if all three catalysts, the lending protocol vote, the CLARITY Act, and ETF inflows, fall into place, XRP could break its ATH in 2029. This would require validators to approve the lending protocol, the CLARITY Act to pass, and institutions to commit money to XRP ETFs.
However, if these catalysts stall or fail, XRP's price may remain below $2, following Bitcoin's moves. The current market cap of XRP is a far cry from the $242 billion needed to reach its ATH, and it remains to be seen whether the coin will ever break this barrier.
