XRP's Price Could Soar After Midterm Elections
XRP has been waiting for the U.S. Congress to make progress on several key issues in 2026, which could have a significant impact on its price. The midterm elections on November 3 will determine whether the next Congress is friendly to large financial institutions, crypto as an industry, and those using crypto technologies.
One of the main issues is the conditional approval given to Ripple, XRP's issuer, in December 2025 to open a federally supervised national trust bank. This would allow banks to use XRP as a bridge asset and give them a regulated counterparty in crypto. A Congress that favors Ripple's goals could drive adoption of the coin.
The Clarity Act, currently in Congress, aims to codify the crypto market structure. If passed before January 3, 2027, it would provide institutional compliance departments with more freedom to onboard capital to institution-focused blockchains like the XRP Ledger. However, if the deadline is missed and the bill is revived next year, the importance of the election will increase.
The outcome of these events could be a parabolic move in XRP's price if the stars align. With XRP currently 70% below its all-time high of $3.65, a positive outcome could lead to significant gains.
