XRP's Price Slide Continues Amid Growing Bank Adoption of Blockchain Solutions

XRP's price surge came to an abrupt end as it dropped 2.2% in 24 hours, sending it back into negative territory after climbing 49.4% over seven days.

The decline is attributed to the growing adoption of blockchain systems by large banks aimed at resolving the pre-funding problem. JPMorgan Chase's Kinexys platform allows customers to move balances across currencies without needing a separate cryptocurrency bridge, while Citigroup's 24/7 USD Clearing network enables institutions to make overseas payments quickly with less upfront funding.

The banks' efforts are moving beyond the initial focus on blockchain deposits. SWIFT, a global financial messaging network, is linking bank tokens and conducting transactions between countries via its blockchain ledger without using XRP as an intermediary. The project has expanded to 17 banks across six continents, with HSBC already offering its Tokenized Deposit Service in seven markets.
