XRP's Price Slumps Amid Regulatory Uncertainty and Technical Pressure
The XRP ecosystem continues to expand rapidly, but its price has taken a hit. Despite partnerships with major companies like Mastercard and JPMorgan, as well as regulatory green lights from Hong Kong, XRP's value has dropped by 5.68% over the past week.
One of the key developments in recent days is the launch of retail trading for XRP in Hong Kong. OSL Digital Securities, a subsidiary of the publicly listed OSL Group, has secured a license from the Securities and Futures Commission to offer direct spot access to XRP for individual investors.
Ripple's blockchain infrastructure is also being integrated into existing cross-border payment systems through new strategic partnerships with Mastercard and JPMorgan. Additionally, Ripple announced a strategic investment in Notabene, targeting integration of its RLUSD stablecoin into the Notabene Flow B2B payment platform, which processes over $2 trillion in annual transaction volume.
The XRP Ledger has reached a milestone with 8 million active wallets holding a balance for the first time. However, the Senate's decision to pause the Clarity Act, a bill that aimed to provide clearer regulatory classification for tokens like XRP, has removed a key narrative driver supporting sentiment.
