XRP's Quantum Shield Leaves Bitcoin Exposed

A recent quantum vulnerability audit of the XRP Ledger found that less than 0.03% of its circulating supply is exposed to potential attacks from future quantum computers.

This is in contrast to Bitcoin, which has an estimated 35% of its supply vulnerable due to its lack of native key rotation and the use of outdated address formats such as P2PK.

The audit, conducted by a validator on the XRP Ledger named Vet, revealed that roughly 300,000 XRP accounts with 2.4 billion tokens have never sent a transaction and are therefore quantum-safe by default.

However, two dormant whale accounts holding a combined 21 million XRP were identified as exposed, having transacted at least five years ago and not rotated their signing keys since.
