XRP's Rally Halted at $1.40: ETF Inflows Not Enough to Break Resistance
XRP has been the best-performing cryptocurrency among the five largest assets since its late-August rally, gaining 36%. However, renewed macroeconomic uncertainty and persistent selling pressure near $1.40 continue to limit its recovery.
US inflation rose 3.4% year over year in August, which was broadly in line with market expectations. Month-over-month inflation exceeded forecasts by 10 basis points, pushing the probability of a September interest-rate hike to 87%. Cryptocurrency prices initially rallied after the report, but gains faded over the weekend.
XRP's broader rally remains intact, but some investors are unconvinced that the previous bearish cycle has ended. US spot XRP exchange-traded funds have attracted approximately $32 million in net inflows so far this month, according to SoSoValue data.
