XRP's Road to $12.60 by 2028 Hit with Hurdles
XRP's price has been struggling to recover, trading at $1.35 as of September 13, 2026, down 26.6% since the start of the year.
Standard Chartered sees XRP reaching $12.60 by 2028, but this requires two conditions to be met: the CLARITY Act to pass and spot XRP ETF inflows to scale past $4 billion.
However, neither condition has been met yet, and the bank's head of digital assets research, Geoffrey Kendrick, notes that a macro recovery is needed for XRP to reach $2.80 in 2026, which is already within the current price range.
The realized price of XRP is about $1.48, indicating that it changes hands 8.8% below what the average holder paid. Roughly 60% of supply is held at a loss, and those holders tend to sell when they reach breakeven, capping rallies before they extend.
XRP has never traded above $3.84, which sets a difficult target for it to hit by 2028.
