XRP's Unrealistic $50 Price Target Sparks Debate Among Investors
XRP's prospects for reaching $50 have been touted by some investors, but its current market capitalization would need to increase significantly for this to happen.
According to recent data, XRP has traded between $1.05 and $1.08 this week, down roughly 43% since the start of the year. To reach a value of $50, its market cap would need to climb to around $3.14 trillion, which is more than the entire crypto market's worth today.
Crypto analyst xrpl_Adam argued that institutions could eventually hold XRP like they do gold and Treasuries, changing what the token is for and potentially driving up its price. However, others remain skeptical, with David Schwartz stating that if investors genuinely thought XRP had a 10% chance of reaching $50 or $100, it would not be trading below $10.
The market has a history of doing what investors once thought was impossible, and while some see XRP's potential for growth, many analysts target prices between $5 and $15. Hitting $50 on the other hand would take decades of market growth, with XRP needing to outperform every other cryptocurrency along the way.
