Yakovenko Slams AI Leaders' Safety Concerns: 'Profitability at $1 Trillion MCP'
Solana co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko has mocked the recent calls by AI industry leaders to slow down the development of advanced neural networks. The sudden agreement among OpenAI's Sam Altman, Anthropic's Dario Amodei, and xAI's Elon Musk cites safety risks as the reason for the pause.
Yakovenko responded sarcastically on X, linking the sudden concern for humanity to the giants' desire to lock in their trillion-dollar valuations. He tweeted that he had instructed his Codex to use tokens more sparingly, openly mocking calls for artificial pauses.
The Solana founder's message seems obvious: OpenAI and Anthropic have simply hit an infrastructure dead end. Costs for chips and electricity are rising exponentially, while the status these companies have achieved obliges them to show investors real profits instead of endlessly burning through their budgets.
