Yuga Labs Unveils Otherside Resource Economy in Community Testing Phase
Yuga Labs has initiated community testing for its Otherside resource economy, where players will be able to test the new system and provide feedback. The core of the design is harvesting fees payable to landowners, which will be set by them and paid by players. This allows deed holders control over their plots.
The first round of community testing will focus on a narrow slice of resources, and anything players craft during this phase will stay in their hands. However, resources may be reset over the course of this testing period, with no rules for resets or player notifications yet shared.
Yuga has already run internal simulations of the economic systems and is now pushing smart contracts live to gauge how the design holds up in practice. The studio aims to draw a line between resource management and finished goods during this phase. ApeCoin (APE) will be the only medium through which value moves inside the economy, but details on exchange operations remain unexplained.
