Yusko Bets Big on BTC, Warns of Pain Ahead
Morgan Creek Capital Management founder and chief investment officer Mark Yusko has significant exposure to Bitcoin. He revealed that about half of his net worth is invested in BTC and related assets, which is five times more than he recommends for others.
Yusko said this concentration happened organically as the role grew, but he emphasized that younger investors should have a lower allocation to Bitcoin and instead focus on protection against equity risk and devaluation.
Notably, Yusko has sold nearly all of his shares in Solana (SOL), which he referred to as 'maybe the best investment I've ever had in my life.' The investment returned around 1,000 times its initial value before being sold. His concerns about Solana and other governance tokens like Ethereum's (ETH) and Uniswap's (UNI) stem from their lack of equity, debt, or cash flow claims, making them 'kind of scammy,' in his view.
Looking ahead, Yusko believes that Bitcoin is still overvalued and could drop to $60,000. He predicts a cycle low on October 5, 2026, based on Metcalfe's law, users, and trades. The estimated fair value of BTC is close to $105,000, with the price possibly falling below $58,000 before rising again.
