Japanese cryptocurrency exchange Zaif has partnered with AI Fusion Capital's subsidiary Mirai Capital Holdings (MCH) to explore the development of a new lending service. The goal is to allow Zaif users to lend their Bitcoin holdings without selling them, earning interest in the process.

The partnership aims to combine Zaif's customer base and MCH's experience in operating the cryptocurrency lending platform RENKIN. However, this new service will not be an expansion of RENKIN, but rather a separate scheme agreed upon by both companies through a specific contract.

Zaif emphasized that no changes will be made to the handling of assets currently held by users as a result of this partnership. The company and MCH are prioritizing asset preservation and risk management while considering regulatory changes related to cryptocurrency trading, including the upcoming shift from the Payment Services Act to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.
