Zakura Cuts Zcash Private Transaction Time Below 200ms with New Library
Zakura, a company working on Zcash ecosystem optimizations, has released an open-source library called Zakura Common. This library includes cryptography and protocol components that can reduce private transaction creation time to under 200 milliseconds in some cases.
According to benchmarks, mobile proof generation is more than 14 times faster, while desktop proof generation is more than five times faster. The library also shows improvements in Sinsemilla hashing, with speeds over 21 times faster. Additionally, zk-SNARK verification has been improved by four to eight times.
Zakura Common's release allows for client-side software integration without requiring a network upgrade. This means that developers can start using the optimized code immediately, rather than waiting for a future chain-level deployment. The library is released under MIT/Apache 2.0 licensing and will be included in Zakura 1.3.0.
