Zama Hits 1000 Confidential Transactions Per Second with FHE Breakthrough
Zama, a company specializing in fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), has made significant strides in its technology. According to CEO Rand Hindi, Zama achieved a benchmark of 1,000 confidential transactions per second on GPU, a 5,000-fold increase from its first demonstration at ETHcc 2022.
This milestone is notable as it represents a substantial improvement over the company's initial performance. For context, FHE nodes are said to cost around $0.000004 per ERC7984 transaction, which is purportedly lower than zero-knowledge proofs.
While this achievement has not yet been activated on any mainnet and lacks transparency in its test methodology, Zama remains committed to launching its mainnet by the end of the year.
