Zapper Shutdown Sparks Search for Alternative DeFi Tracking Tools
DeFi users are facing a significant change as Zapper, a popular tool for tracking positions and wallets, announced its wind-down. The team behind Zapper stated that they will be shutting down the website, mobile apps, and API on August 3, 2026.
This comes after Zapper reached approximately 2 million monthly active users and processed over $13 billion in transaction volume at its peak, according to a report from The Block. The shutdown will leave many users looking for alternative tools to manage their DeFi positions.
Five alternatives have been identified as potential replacements: DeBank, Zerion, DeFiLlama's Portfolio, Rotki, and CoinStats. These tools offer different features and approaches to tracking DeFi positions, with some focusing on all-in-one views, others on local data storage, and others on mixed CEX and DeFi portfolios.
DeBank and Zerion are recommended for their familiar dashboards and mobile apps, while DeFiLlama's Portfolio is praised for its simplicity and broad chain coverage. Rotki stands out for its focus on privacy and local data storage, making it an attractive option for users who prioritize data security. CoinStats can also centralize CEX and DeFi portfolios.
