Zcash Blasts Past $1,000 as Grayscale ETF Attracts Record Inflows

Zcash's native token ZEC has reached a trading high of $1,023, marking its first sustained move into four-digit territory since its debut on exchanges nearly a decade ago. This milestone comes as part of a month-long buying spree that has pushed the privacy-focused cryptocurrency's market capitalization toward $17 billion.

The surge in ZEC's price can be attributed to the launch of Grayscale's Zcash ETF, which began trading on NYSE Arca on August 25, 2026. The fund, ticker G ZCSH, has attracted at least $34.4 million in net inflows since its debut, including a single-day high of $12.6 million on September 2.

While the ETF's launch has provided mainstream investors with a regulated way to gain exposure to ZEC, it also brings increased competition to the network. Zcash's mining computing power, or solrate, jumped from around 25 GSol/s to more than 30 GSol/s, squeezing miner revenue per unit of electricity by about 3%.
