Zcash Drives Privacy Coins to Outperform Crypto Market
The crypto sector that's beating all others is privacy coins, which have soared 213% since Bitcoin peaked in October. This stands out as a stark contrast to the rest of the market, where every other sector has declined.
According to Glassnode, a on-chain analytics firm, only 9% of the top 200 coins are above their price from that day. Bitcoin itself is still trading 36% below its record high set in October 2025.
The median coin in the top 200 has dropped by 58%, with gaming being the worst-hit sector at a decline of 74%. DeFi, on the other hand, is down by 27%.
It's worth noting that Zcash, which supplies most of the value to the privacy coins group, has seen its price surge 687% since Bitcoin's high. This suggests that the sector's performance is largely driven by a single asset.
