Zcash ETF Surpasses $500M with Affiliate Contribution
Grayscale's Zcash ETF (ZCSH) has crossed $500 million in assets, but interestingly, $100 million of that came from a company affiliated with its own sponsor, Digital Currency Group (DCG).
The fund listed on the NYSE Arca on August 25 and reached this milestone two weeks later. During this time, outside inflows totaled just over $70 million, while DCG International added roughly $100 million in ZEC.
Zcash has seen significant price action recently, trading above $1,200 this week, a level not seen since the fourth quarter of 2016. This surge comes despite the majors, including Bitcoin, being stuck near their current prices and awaiting key events such as August inflation data and the Federal Open Market Committee meeting.
Arthur Hayes and Matt Hougan are among those who have publicly endorsed ZEC in recent weeks, with Hougan naming it one of three assets to own for the next decade. Grayscale's research has also argued that artificial intelligence makes financial surveillance more effective by linking public addresses to exchanges, counterparties, and wallet behavior.
