Zcash Gains Ground on Privacy Focus and 'Second Mover' Advantage

Grayscale has highlighted Zcash's potential to become a long-term rival to Bitcoin due to its structural advantage in transaction privacy. The firm argues that as AI systems improve at detecting patterns in financial data, the ability to keep transactions private may grow in importance, leading to increased demand for privacy-focused networks.

In a report, Grayscale notes that Zcash's 'second mover advantages' could help it compete against Bitcoin's network effects. This is an angle that earlier alternatives such as Litecoin failed to capitalize on.

Despite cautioning that returns from investing in Zcash could be volatile and uneven, Grayscale suggests that the asset has significant upside potential if its market capitalization expands to 5% of Bitcoin's. The firm projects that Zcash could reach a value of over $4,000 based on this scenario.
