Zcash Market Rally Sparks Concern Over Narrative-Driven Price Surge
Zcash has surged to a $19.48 billion market cap after its price jumped above $1,250.
The cryptocurrency's market value increased by more than 2,200% in a year and 125% in 30 days, placing it among the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization.
F2Pool co-founder Chun Wang argues that this rally is narrative-driven, rather than based on fundamental growth. He claims that Zcash's high market cap does not necessarily mean it has earned its place alongside other major networks like Solana and Hyperliquid.
Wang points to the 20% Founders' Reward taken from every block reward during the first four years of Zcash's existence, which allocated about 2.1 million ZEC (10% of the maximum supply) to founders, employees, advisors, and early investors.
