Zcash Mining Revenue Per Megawatt Tops Bitcoin's Fourfold in 2026

Zcash mining revenue per megawatt has surpassed Bitcoin's by four times in 2026, driven by stronger ZEC prices and a significant increase in mining activity.

According to Grayscale Research Director Zach Pandl, Zcash miners currently generate about $2 million in total revenue each day, compared with approximately $35 million earned across the Bitcoin network. However, on an individual-machine basis, a Zcash miner earns about twice the daily revenue of a Bitcoin miner.

The difference becomes even more pronounced when considering power-based comparisons. Pandl estimated that Zcash mining produces approximately four times as much revenue per megawatt-hour as Bitcoin mining.
