Zcash Outshines Bitcoin in Mining Revenue Efficiency
According to Grayscale Research, Zcash mining has become more profitable in 2026. This is due to Zcash's higher price, which boosts miner revenue across the network.
A typical Zcash mining machine now generates about twice the revenue of a comparable Bitcoin machine, estimates Zach Pandl, a director at Grayscale Research.
Grayscale calculates that Zcash miners earn around $2 million a day across the network, compared to roughly $35 million for Bitcoin miners. This significant difference is largely due to the much larger size of Bitcoin's mining network.
The gap in revenue per megawatt-hour is even wider, with Zcash generating about four times as much revenue relative to power consumption.
