Zcash Price Bounces Back Above $800 as Holders Vote on NU7 Upgrades
Zcash's price has rebounded to above $800 after briefly dipping below $773. The recovery comes during a period of strong weekly growth, despite its current price being lower than the recent peak near $890.
The price has been trading near $826 at the time of writing and is expected to face resistance in the $850-$880 range before potentially reaching $900.
Eligible Zcash holders are voting on five proposals for the network's next major upgrade, NU7. The proposals include changing the halving cycle from four years to a smoother reduction in new issuance, returning part of the transaction fees to future block rewards, and reducing the block time from 75 seconds to 25 seconds.
Cypherpunk Technologies has published its recommended positions on all five questions, strongly supporting faster blocks and citing test results that show the network can handle the change.
