Zcash Price Plummets as Winklevoss-Backed Firm Holds onto Losses
Zcash's price has plummeted by 68% since reaching its peak of $744 in November, currently trading at around $235.
Cypherpunk Technologies, a Winklevoss-backed firm that had been aggressively accumulating Zcash, has stopped buying and holds 290,062 ZEC, which is now worth approximately $26 million less than its original cost.
Despite this decline, Digital Currency Group founder Barry Silbert remains optimistic about the future of privacy coins, predicting that 5-10% of Bitcoin's market capitalization will rotate into them over the next few years.
