Zcash Private Transactions Get a Speed Boost: Up to 14x Faster

Zcash has made significant strides in improving its private transaction processing speed, thanks to a recent upgrade. According to the Zakura Common team, proof generation is now more than 14 times faster on mobile devices and 5 times on desktop. This means that creating a private transaction may become much quicker for users.

The biggest speed-up seems to be in proof generation, which involves complex math to verify transactions without exposing sensitive information. Reports indicate that the new library can cut private transaction creation time from over three seconds to under 200 milliseconds in some cases.

While this development could make private ZEC viable for everyday mobile payments, it's not a complete fix on its own. Everyday adoption still depends on factors such as merchant acceptance and exchange transfers. However, with the speed boost, users may notice a significant improvement in the wallet experience.
