Zcash Recovery Sparks Hope Amid Bitcoin's Range-Bound Trajectory
The crypto market is experiencing mixed signals as Bitcoin remains range-bound while Zcash shows signs of recovery. Despite a quiet trading session, the charts reveal differing trends for the two assets.
Bitcoin's price action has been trapped in a death cross formation, with indicators pointing to a bear trap. The 50-day exponential moving average (EMA) sits below the 200-day EMA, a sign of a downtrend. However, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) reads 53.5, just above the neutral 50 line, indicating a slight bullish bias.
Zcash, on the other hand, is painting a more positive picture with indicators lending credence to a recovery underway. The Ironwood upgrade, which activated on mainnet July 28, has put to rest fears created by an AI-discovered vulnerability in its code that's been patched. Zcash's price has spiked over 5% in the last 24 hours.
The bigger picture for Bitcoin shows it peaked near $80,000 in May and crashed through June to a low near $56,000, stabilizing in a $60,000-$67,000 range since July. Zcash, which trades as ZEC, has recovered to $520 after dipping on the activation of the upgrade.
