Zcash Rockets Past $967 as Analysts Pin Hopes on $1,200 Target
Zcash has been on an upward trajectory since its November 2025 low near $150. The cryptocurrency currently trades at around $967, sitting just under the psychological gate of $1,000. Analyst Altcoin Sherpa refers to this level as the '1k waiting room', with a target of $1,200 if it breaks through.
According to data from the 2-hour chart, ZEC spent August 22 to September 3 inside an ascending channel between roughly $720 and $890. The measured-move tool projects a 74.08% extension, which is around $511 in additional upside, and this is where the $1,200 resistance level comes from.
Despite being historically weak in September, with a median return of -9.78%, ZEC has shown resilience this year. The recent listing of Grayscale's Zcash Trust as an ETF on NYSE Arca under ticker ZCSH may have contributed to the rally, with trader Taiki Maeda linking it to growing real usage.
Shorts keep losing money on ZEC, with 94% of Thursday's $22.90 million in liquidations absorbed by short positions. However, account ratios on Binance and OKX still show more traders positioned short than long, indicating that the market hasn't fully accepted the trend yet.
