Zcash Smashes Eight-Year Price Ceiling to $814 Amid ETF Push
Zcash has broken through its eight-year price ceiling after reaching over $814. The surge in value represents an approximately 38% increase and comes as Grayscale submitted its fourth amended registration statement to transform the Zcash Trust into a spot exchange-traded fund listed on NYSE Arca.
The ETF push appears to be driving the growth, with trading volume for Zcash futures reaching $4.55 billion on Friday and open interest approaching $1.35 billion. The proposed conversion of the trust from OTCQX marketplace listing to NYSE Arca exchange would enable ongoing share creation and establish a redemption mechanism designed to minimize pricing discrepancies between shares and underlying ZEC asset values.
In related news, DCG International Investments has entered preliminary discussions to purchase approximately 200,000 ZEC tokens valued at roughly $163 million. While these negotiations currently lack binding commitments, the contribution of such a significant amount of tokens would represent a substantial increase in the trust's holdings.
