Zcash Soars Above $1,200 Amid ETF Launch and Privacy Demand
Zcash has experienced a significant rally, breaking above $1,200 and reaching its highest price since 2016. The token's market capitalization has surpassed $20 billion, with gains of roughly 45% in one week and 138% over the past month.
The speed of Zcash's advance raises questions about whether it is approaching the limits of a momentum-driven rally or if the market is beginning to assign a permanently higher valuation to the privacy-focused cryptocurrency. Several catalysts are developing simultaneously, including institutional access through Grayscale's ETF launch and renewed attention on financial privacy.
Grayscale converted its existing Zcash Trust into an ETF, making it easier for investors to access the token without directly buying and custodying it. The fund attracted at least $34.4 million in net inflows shortly after launch and has since reached approximately $463.2 million in assets under management.
The implications of this conversion extend beyond increased visibility, as ETF demand can remove ZEC from the liquid market while accumulating the underlying asset. This creates a different backdrop for earlier ZEC rallies, where the token relied exclusively on crypto-native traders for demand.
