Zcash Soars to Eight-Year High Amid Convergence of ETF Progress, Futures Bets, and NU7 Vote

Zcash (ZEC) rallied to an eight-year high after reaching $880, fueled by several factors including ETF progress, NU7 voting, and futures demand.

The surge in price erased the security-driven sell-off from June following the Ironwood upgrade. The rally gained momentum as Grayscale advanced its ETF-conversion filing, with a fifth amendment filed on August 21. However, the SEC approval process remains unfinished.

NU7 voters will weigh in on changes to ZEC issuance, including proposals to replace periodic halvings with a gradual issuance curve and recycle removed coins into future block rewards. The vote is not an automatic change in protocol but serves as a signaling process.

Futures activity also played a role in the price increase, with open interest nearly doubling to $1.8 billion. This indicates high leveraged participation alongside the spot-market advance.
