Zcash Surges Above $1,100 as Privacy Coin Rally Gains Momentum
Zcash has broken above $1,100, marking a significant milestone in its recent price surge. The privacy-focused cryptocurrency's breakout has been characterized by steady gains, with buyers pushing the token into progressively higher trading ranges.
After clearing the $530-$540 range and boosting momentum, ZEC's price accelerated toward $887, only to be met with profit-taking. However, buyers stepped in near $750, preventing a deeper retracement and demonstrating strong demand.
With its current price at $1,187.32, representing a 17% increase in the last 24 hours, Zcash's breakout has pulled leverage higher, according to derivatives markets. Open Interest rose toward $2.7 billion, indicating traders increased their leverage on another leg up.
The rally is not limited to ZEC alone, as broader participation from competing assets across the privacy sector has given the rally stronger foundations. Monero (XMR) and Dash (DASH) have also seen significant price increases, with XMR holding a market capitalization of $10.1 billion and DASH climbing toward $880 million.
