Zcash Surges Past 8-Year Resistance as NYSE ETF Listing Looms
The price of Zcash (ZEC) has broken through an eight-year resistance level, reaching $814. The surge in value is attributed to the upcoming listing of the first spot Zcash fund, the Zcash ETF, on NYSE Arca.
The fund, which holds up to 393,000 ZEC worth over $260 million, will trade under the ticker ZCSH starting August 25, 2026. This development has led to increased speculation about whether Zcash can eventually surpass XRP in market capitalization.
Zcash's market capitalization currently stands at $13.74 billion, while XRP's is around $93.45 billion. If Zcash were to reach the same level as XRP, the price of one ZEC would increase by 680% to approximately $5,537.93.
Mert Mumtaz, CEO of Helius, has expressed support for Zcash and its potential to regain its status as a top-three asset by market capitalization. He believes that transaction protection is a fundamental human right in digital finance and has pledged to lobby for privacy coins until Zcash reaches this goal.
