Zcash Surges Past Eight-Year High, Nears $900 as Bitcoin Lags Behind
Zcash (ZEC) is making waves in the crypto market, reaching an eight-year high as it nears the $900 mark. On August 25, ZEC traded at $836.14, a slight 0.2% increase from the previous day. However, last Sunday's price surge saw ZEC reach a high of $888, setting a new nearly 8-year high.
This significant gain comes as Bitcoin (BTC) struggles to break through the $80,000 mark, with only a 20% rise over the past week. In contrast, ZEC has gained over 60% in just seven days, making it one of the most closely watched capital reallocations in the crypto asset market.
The strong breakout of ZEC is also boosting other privacy coins, such as Dash (DASH), Tezos (XTZ), and Monero (XMR), which have seen gains of over 40%, 16%, and 6% respectively. This structural repricing of capital in the privacy asset sector marks a significant shift in investor sentiment.
