Zcash Vote Eligibility: Who Can Participate and How to Cast Your Ballot

The Zcash vote is underway, and eligible participants have until September 14 to cast their ballots. To be eligible, an individual must have held spendable shielded ZEC in the Ironwood pool of a wallet they own on August 24 at around 19:00 UTC.

This means that anyone who had nothing in their Ironwood pool at that moment is no longer able to change it before the voting window closes. However, those who were eligible on the cut-off date may move, sell, or reallocate their coins afterwards without losing their right to vote.

The eligibility rule requires three conditions: spendable shielded funds in the Ironwood pool at Mainnet block height 3459350. This means that only shielded notes are counted, and those that were not available for spending on the cut-off date do not qualify.
