ZEC Surges Past $1,000 as Grayscale Lists First US Privacy Coin ETF
Zcash recently broke through the $1,000 mark, sparking a rally in its price and that of related asset Dash. The move took ZEC from around $41-$42 a year ago to four figures, representing a gain of approximately 2,300% over that period.
This breakthrough has been accompanied by the introduction of an exchange-traded fund (ETF) for Zcash, known as Grayscale's ZCSH. This product is listed on NYSE Arca and provides investors with a way to access ZEC through a conventional brokerage account.
The ETF's launch has provided institutional investors with a new channel for accessing the privacy-focused asset, despite regulatory risks remaining in place. The EU's anti-money-laundering regulation still prohibits crypto-asset service providers from maintaining accounts that enable increased transaction obfuscation through anonymity-enhancing coins.
