ZEC Whale Buys $13M, Spot Demand Surges Amid Improved Mining Economics
A recent surge in Zcash (ZEC) whale buying has sparked optimism among investors, with one whale accumulating $13.65 million worth of ZEC over the past week.
The whale, who purchased 12.87K ZEC from four major exchanges including Binance, OKX, Kraken, and Gate, transferred the coins into a fresh wallet after completing the accumulation sequence.
This significant buying activity is accompanied by spot-market demand, as evidenced by the Spot Taker CVD metric, which indicates that aggressive buyers are dominating the market.
In addition to the whale's purchases, Zcash mining economics have improved substantially this year, with higher profitability attracting greater network participation. According to Grayscale, Zcash miner rewards have increased to $2 million daily, nearly twice Bitcoin's mining rewards per rig.
