Zerohash Submits Second OCC Trust Bank Application Amid Broader Demand for Federal Crypto Charters
Zerohash has submitted its second application for a U.S. national trust bank charter to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) after its first filing was returned on July 17.
The revised application, which was recorded by the OCC on August 19, seeks to establish Zerohash National Trust Bank in Asheville, North Carolina, and would operate under a holding company structure if approved.
According to the OCC's public record, the proposed bank would have trust powers from regulators and would pursue narrower national trust activities aligned with its rollout plans.
Zerohash had previously stated that the initial return of its application was 'not a substantive decision on the merits' and occurred 'in coordination with the OCC.'
