Zhao: $1 Million Bitcoin Price Inevitable, Utility Expansion Key to Adoption
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao spoke at the Bitcoin Asia 2026 conference in Hong Kong, sharing his views on various topics including Bitcoin price expectations and utility expansion.
Zhao stated that reaching a $1 million Bitcoin price is inevitable and will happen faster than predicted. He emphasized that utility expansion matters more than price, requiring large-scale adoption and making Bitcoin a reserve asset for retirement pensions.
The Binance founder noted that people tend to overestimate what can be done in one year but underestimate what can be done in ten years, citing the development of infrastructure over the next decade. He also mentioned the rapid growth of tokenized stocks, with Binance's bStocks growing quickly just three months after launch.
Zhao discussed the relationship between Bitcoin and state power, stating that Bitcoin neither weakens nor strengthens government power, what truly matters is the choices governments make. Historically, weaker governments have delivered better economic performance, he added, citing the US as an example.
