Zhao Warns Kyrgyzstan Against Overly Strict Crypto Regulations
Binance founder Changpeng Zhao is cautioning Kyrgyzstan against tightening regulations on its virtual asset market, urging instead that it maintain its pace of development and create clear conditions for businesses.
Zhao made these remarks during a meeting of the National Council for the Development of Virtual Assets and Blockchain Technologies in Issyk-Kul region, where he noted that one of Kyrgyzstan's main advantages is the political will and openness of its authorities to working with emerging technology sectors.
The country, according to Zhao, is gradually developing a regulatory framework covering licensing, stablecoins, and the tokenization of real-world assets. However, he warned that excessively strict or unclear rules could prompt innovative companies to move to other jurisdictions.
